stalactite cave near Bangkok, Wat Tham Phrathat Charoen Tham

Few know that within the limestone mountain, which is 300 meters high, inside is a cave hall where beautiful stalagmites and stalactites are hidden."Tham Phra That Charoen Tham" or "Tham Bo Pla" ("Tham" is a cave) was discovered by Luang Por Somsak Surathammo during a pilgrimage. Because of the dazzling beauty inside the cave, Luang Por had the idea to develop it as an eco-tourism attraction.

If you come to this temple, you will feel the serenity in the midst of the coolness. The entrance to the cave is paved with marble as a way to walk around the cave. There is Luang Pho Yai, a stucco Buddha image covered with gold lacquer enshrined inside.

Wat Tham Phrathat Charoen Tam is located in Kaeng Khoi Saraburi. It is about 2 hours away from Bangkok. The temple is in rural Thailand. Traveling here a lot, so renting a car and driving yourself is the most convenient option.

This is my travel plan.
Day 1

I visited Wat Tham Phrathat Charoen Tham on August 13, 2022. I drove myself, the road to this temple is in good condition making it easy to drive. The outside of the temple may not be very striking, but once you enter the cave you will be amazed by the beauty inside.

You must have a guide to tour the temple. Before entering the cave, you will have to wait for a guide as you may not be able to leave the cave. The man in the white shirt pictured above is our guide.

There are many lights inside.

There are some dark and narrow spots.

You may have to bend down to get inside.

The guide will also tell you to take pictures at different spots.

Are you seeing bats in the cave?

Then I came back out.

I spent about 40 minutes touring here.
