Wat Ban Tham is located in Tha Muang District, Kanchanaburi Province. It is an old temple founded in 1782 with a large cave inside the temple. Inside the cave, there is a large Buddha image in the attitude of subduing Mara in the Sukhothai period named Luang Por Yai Chinnarat

The highlight of Wat Ban Tham is that there are 269 steps up to the cave with a dragon pattern. There are 114 steps decorated with serpent stairs, 105 steps from the dragon body, and 50 steps to the cave entrance. Walking up the stairs can be exhausting, but once you reach the inside of the cave, it's really worth it for the beautiful view of Kanchanaburi. Heavenly Dragon Cave or Nang Bua Khli Cave Inside the temple is the location of Luang Pho Yai Chinnarat. The interior will be light and airy because there is a ceiling chimney that shines light into the cave and makes it well ventilated. Besides Luang Phor Yai Chinnarat, there are also ancient artifacts and stalagmites that resemble women in the cave. It is believed that Mrs. Buaklee was the wife of Khun Phaen in the literature of Khun Chang Khun Phaen.

In addition, on the top of the mountain, there are other caves with beautiful stalactites and stalagmites. Such as Tham Man Wichit, Tham Khun Phaen, Tham Dok Chok, Tham Muen Han, Tham Nang Nuan, Tham Nang Non and Tham Dusit National Park. You'll probably spend a whole day going through all the caves.
